Social networking site Ello was down for 45 minutes today starting at 4.15 pm. Ello has stated that the issue was later resolved by blocking the offending IP addresses.
When it was down, any visits to the site’s pages resulted in the following error message: “The site is currently unavailable while we conduct some necessary maintenance. Follow along for any updates on our status page.”

Ello’s has also stated that the outage is due to a potential denial of service (DDoS) attack. Ello's phenomenal growth recently have made it an attractive target for DDoS attackers.
Ello has branded itself as the anti-Facebook social media network where users are in a completely advertisement and data collection-free environment.
So Mark Zuckerberg, looks like its time to up your game because finally Facebook's true rival had arrived in town.
